Escambia County commissioners and SRIA pooh-bah Buck Lee are scheming to ensure Navarre Beach will prevail over neighboring beach competitors: they're planning a 100% increase in the Bob Sikes Bridge toll. Instead of $1 for every trip onto Pensacola Beach, the new toll would be $2.
Brilliant! The only problem is, Navarre Beach isn't in Escambia County. Still, it's a great plan. Tourists will find that it's a lot cheaper to avoid Pensacola Beach altogether and go straight next door to Navarre Beach, just seven miles east, where bridge access is free!
