Waiting for More Shoes to Drop

UPDATED BELOW
What are the chances that out of 435 inflated egos in the U.S. House of Representatives only one, Mark Foley, has been lusting after under-aged House pages? Not very good a Republican source tells ABC News reporter Brian Ross:
"A former senior Republican official in Congress says Foley was one of a handful of members and staff whose behavior with pages was being closely watched. But so far Foley is the only member whose overt sexual approaches have been documented."
Closely watched? Yeah? For how many years?

On the other hand, Digby thinks that House speaker Dennis Hastert (R-ILL) is "trying to get the FBI to track the kids down and tell them NOT to come forward or comment 'while the investigation is ongoing.'"

UPDATE

If you're eager for raw gossip, speculation, twaddle, scuttlebutt, and unverified anonymous tips about the next congressman to fall, you can go to the fount: stopsexpredators.com. Just remember, as Seymour Hersh has documented, "no request for action should be taken directly to higher authorities—a process known as 'stovepiping'—without the information on which it is based having been subjected to rigorous scrutiny."

That's what the neocons in the Bush administration do and, so far, they've cost us nearly 3,000 American lives.

This will certainly be interesting to watch it play out. They can't shove it under the rug since they went so batshit crazy about the Clinton affair. Yet they are trying to protect their party and be all pissed all at the same time. Very tight corner they have gotten themselves in now.
