Ferry Service to Fort Pickens

Over the long weekend the News Journal reported that "Ferry service to Fort Pickens on Gulf Islands National Seashore is now available." Catch the ferry at "the Chulamar Shack at Sabine Marina on Pensacola Beach."

$25 per adult; half price for children under 10.

do you know if there is drinking water on the island. We're camping out but don't know if we need to bring in drinking water.

The past 2 summers when you had to walk in or bike or boat water was available from the drinking fountains. It must be a well b/c there was no electricity for heated water, lights etc. The water fountain at the campground and at the picnic pavillion with flush toilets all were up and running. I haven't been this year the last time I was there was June 2008, bike camping.

This won't have effect in fact, that's exactly what I believe.
