Alabama Meets Chicago
"Art Chicago" was the snooty, 12th-story part of the huge and sprawling annual "Artropolis 2008" extravaganza held late last month in the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago. Amid the Picasso's, Dubuffet's and such, we found a giant-sized photographic print by Burk Uzzle that captures something -- the essence, perhaps, or maybe something else -- about neighboring Alabama.
The work was displayed by Lawrence Miller Gallery of New York. More Burk Uzzle photographs can be viewed on his personal web site at www.Burkuzzle.com.
