Beach Retreat and Rain Return

Barrier Island Girl photo-blogs the retreat of the red tide and the return of the rain. The National Weather Service has the details:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A

* SPECIAL MARINE WARNING FOR... COASTAL WATERS FROM DESTIN TO PENSACOLA FL OUT 20 NM OVER GULF OF MEXICO WATERS... UNTIL 815 AM CDT

* AT 610 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ACROSS THE NEAR SHORE WATERS. SEVERAL OF THE THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO SHOW ROTATION IN THEM AND WATERSPOUTS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THESE STORMS. THE GREATEST THREAT FOR WATERSPOUTS WILL BE BETWEEN PENSACOLA BEACH AND DESTIN. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH AT 20 KNOTS.

* THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP IN THE COASTAL WATERS BETWEEN PENSACOLA AND DESTIN THROUGH THE MORNING.

IN ADDITION TO WATERSPOUTS...MARINERS CAN EXPECT GUSTY WINDS... HIGH WAVES...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...AND HEAVY RAINS. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS AND BOATERS SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.
