Humdinger Homicide

The thing is, if Escambia County sheriff David Morgan believes that the tragic double murder of Byrd and Melanie Billings "rivals a movie script," and he's really planning "to share this story with Escambia County and the nation," then he might not want to seem so, well, exuberant as to call the killings a "humdinger."

In defense of Morgan, I think it is fair to say that he was probably extremely tired, as well as more than a little over whelmed by this whole nightmare, so he probably didn't have a media message prepared, and ended up sounding like a bad movie script. That happens.

OTOH, I am so damn glad that McNesby wasn't the OIC, since we all know what a boob he looked and sounded like on the teevee. He was a true Bubba from the south if there ever was one.

I think Morgan and his staff have done a very good job. This was a heinous crime, and they deserve kudos for making the arrests as soon as they did.

I agree with panicbean - Morgan doing a good job in the high glare of the national media. He does have a flair for the dramatic but so what? Can't wait for the movie to come out. I see George Clooney as David Morgan.
