Well, after a great start to the day locally, multiple informants who ventured near or into the surf this afternoon are reporting the scent of oil has returned to Pensacola Beach, riding a mild southwest wind. One we know, who goes by the handle "BeachLover" on the Internet, adds it is "not as strong as last week, and more intermittent, but definitely there." Another says it has a pungent odor, "like paint thinner or turpentine."
No one considered it over-powering, but all found it distinctly unpleasant and very foreign to the beach they know.

We live in Gulf Breeze and we can smell it right now. Terrible. How do we know what exactly we are breathing in?
