Damaged While Under Construction
Not to minimize the pain of those in the Pensacola area who suffered property damage or personal injury in yesterday's marathon tropical force winds, but Escambia County Sheriff Ron Nesby gave voice to a central truth about the beach in an Associated Press dispatch:
"You don't have the same things out there to destroy now that you would have just in a once-every-five-year storm. Most of the weakened structures were destroyed by the second storm."Indeed. You can't claim structural or personal property damage when you no longer own a structure or personal property.
