Bottom of Journalism's Barrel?

We'd like to think that Amy Chozick just scraped the bottom of the barrel of bad journalism today with her Wall Street Journal article on how Barack Obama is too thin to be elected president. But we know that political reporting in the mainstream media can and will get worse. A lot worse.

"His slim physique just might have some Americans wondering whether he is truly like them," Chozick writes. There is more, unfortunately, about 1,400 words more. Kevin Drum counted them.

One of Kevin's commentators hints that Chozick may have cribbed the whole thing from an Onion video spoof (see below). That figures. In her spare time, Chozick also writes bad knock-off poetry for obscure literary journals.

These days, you can't tell truth from fiction or sage from satire.
